Day 1: Arrive Costa Rica
Welcome to Costa Rica! After landing at Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR) in Liberia, breeze through customs and collect your luggage. Just outside the terminal, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your Solo Travel Collection host and driver. They’ll be there to greet you with a smile and ensure a smooth, comfortable start to your adventure. Settle into your rustic-chic accommodations surrounded by a dry forest and mountain views and meet your fellow travellers during a welcome dinner.
Day 2: Chasing Waterfalls
After breakfast, lace up your hiking boots for a scenic trek in Rincon de la Vieja National Park. Journey along Las Pailas Trails, where bubbling mud pots, fumaroles, and steaming vents showcase the power of the volcano. End at La Oropendola Waterfall—a turquoise cascade hidden in a lush canyon. Return to the lodge with the afternoon and evening free to relax, explore the property, or unwind by the pool.
Day 3: Hot Springs & Volcanic Mud Baths
Start your morning with a delicious breakfast before departing the hotel on horseback, riding through lush mountain scenery on your way to the Río Negro Hot Springs and volcanic mud baths—a rejuvenating oasis nestled in the rainforest. Afterward, enjoy free time for lunch. In the afternoon, continue your dry rainforest adventure with thrilling river tubing down the Río Negro’s crystal-clear waters. Enjoy the rest of your evening at leisure, soaking in the lodge’s peaceful ambiance.
Day 4: Morning Yoga & Cooking Demonstration
Start your morning with a leisurely breakfast and a gentle yoga session surrounded by the sounds of nature. This afternoon, enjoy time to independently explore nearby trails. Later, enjoy a hands-on cooking demonstration where you’ll learn to prepare traditional Costa Rican dishes using fresh, local ingredients from the Hacienda's farm.
Day 5: From Guanacaste to Arenal
After breakfast, bid farewell to Guanacaste and travel to La Fortuna, home of the iconic Arenal Volcano. En route, experience the wonder of hanging bridges. Walk the tree tops and experience aerial views and wildlife including sloths, tucans and more! This afternoon, arrive to your private casita and enjoy balcony volcano views, and a relaxing dinner surrounded by rain forest sounds.
Day 6: Wildlife Safari
This morning, head out on a Cano Negro River boat experience, one of Costa Rica’s best wildlife experiences. Search for monkeys, sloths, caimans, and colorful tropical birds along the tranquil waterways. Return to La Fortuna for an afternoon of free time to explore the town, enjoy lunch, or shop for local crafts.
Day 7: Chocolate & Coffee
This morning, visit an organic farm to discover how Costa Rica’s celebrated exports—coffee, honey, and chocolate—are produced, following each one from its natural source to its final form. Enjoy a fresh farm-to-table lunch before capping off your journey with a memorable farewell dinner surrounded by lush gardens and stunning volcanic views.
Day 8: Departure Day
Enjoy a final breakfast before your private transfer to San José International Airport (approx. 2.5–3 hours, 133 km / 85 miles). Take with you unforgettable memories of Costa Rica’s volcanoes, waterfalls, wildlife, and the warmth of its people. Please note departure from hotel will be 6:30 AM and international flights should depart no earlier than 12:30 PM.
